一、潮湿对发电机绕组绝缘及其他配件的损坏,特别是生锈问题,水箱箱体需防止锈蚀。

二、船体振动颠簸对机组整体性能尤其是散热器结构影响大。

三、海洋环境中盐碱腐蚀(因海水是碱性)对机组绕组及散热器芯体腐蚀严重。

四、海上环境造成维修的不便。

陆用柴油发电机组及配套散热器并不会专门针对以上四个方面去设计,而船用机组则考虑到以上因素,必须选用三防水箱,否则机组一旦使用必然会造成早期腐蚀、穿孔,基本无法维修且更换困难,也明文规定船用机组及部件必须要有三检证书,检验合格的机组才允许在船上正常使用,处于类似环境的海岛用机组也适用以上要求。
