Introduction to the Eight Classification Characteristics of Diesel Generator Sets
1、 According to the fuel classification of engine, it can be divided into diesel generator set and composite fuel generator set
2、 According to the speed classification, it can be divided into high-speed, medium speed and low-speed diesel generator sets. Among them, land use generator sets include both mobile and fixed types. Land use units can be divided into four types: ordinary type, automated type, low noise type, and low noise automated type. 4、 According to the classification of generator output voltage and frequency, it can be divided into AC generator sets and DC generator sets. Among them, AC generator sets; Including intermediate frequency 40HZ and power frequency 50HZ. The rated voltage for 50HZ power frequency small and medium-sized generator sets is generally 400V; The rated voltage of large generators is generally 6.3-10.5kV. 5、 According to the excitation methods of synchronous generators, they can be classified into rotating AC exciters and static exciters.
1. The excitation system of a rotating AC exciter includes a static rectifier excitation system followed by a brushless excitation system
2. The static exciter excitation system includes a voltage source static exciter excitation system, an AC side series composite voltage source static exciter excitation system, and a harmonic (or fundamental) auxiliary winding excitation system. It is classified according to its purpose. 1. Commonly used units, such as generator sets, operate year-round and are generally located in areas far from the power grid (or city power) or near industrial and mining enterprises to meet the construction, production, and daily electricity needs of these areas. In areas with rapid economic development, because the construction of the power network cannot keep up with the needs of users, common diesel generator sets with short construction period are set up to meet the needs of users. This type of generator set generally has a large capacity and provides continuous power supply for non constant loads. There is no limit to the duration of continuous operation, and it allows for 1 hour of overload power supply every 12 hours, with an overload capacity of 10% of the rated output power. Due to their long operating time and heavy load, this type of unit has its allowable power adjusted to a lower point relative to the maximum power of the unit.
2. The backup unit is usually supplied by the mains power supply, which is set up to ensure the basic production and daily life of users when the mains power is cut off or interrupted due to other reasons. This type of generator set is permanently installed in important electricity consuming units such as telecommunications departments, hospitals, industrial and mining enterprises with tight electricity supply, airports, and television stations. This type of unit maintains a standby state at all times and can provide continuous power supply to non constant loads.
3. Emergency generator sets are often set up to provide emergency power to electrical equipment that may cause significant losses or personal accidents due to sudden interruption of power supply, such as fire protection systems in high-rise buildings, evacuation lighting, elevators, control systems for automated production lines, important communication systems, and medical equipment undergoing important surgeries with patients. This type of unit should be able to quickly start and operate in the event of a sudden interruption of mains power, and provide stable AC power to the load in the shortest possible time to ensure timely power supply to the load. This type of unit requires a high degree of automation.
7、 According to the classification of control and operation methods, it can be divided into on-site operation generator sets, compartment operation generator sets, and automated generator sets.
1. The on-site operation personnel of the generator set start, close, regulate speed, open, and stop the generator set in the machine room. The vibration, noise, oil mist, and exhaust gas generated during the operation of such generator sets have adverse effects on the health of operators. 2. The machine room and control room for the generator set in the compartment are set separately. The operator can start, speed control, stop and other operations for the diesel generator set in the machine room in the operation room, monitor the operating parameters of the unit, and implement centralized control for the auxiliary machine in the machine room. Chamber operation can improve the working environment for operators. 3. After years of research by relevant units, the automation of automatic generator sets can realize unattended operation, including unit self start, automatic voltage regulation, automatic frequency modulation, load regulation, automatic parallel operation, automatic increase and decrease of units according to load size, automatic fault handling, and automatic recording printer set, which can automatically start 10-15s after the mains power interruption to replace the mains power supply.
8、 According to the classification of automation functions, it can be divided into basic diesel generator set, automatic start diesel generator set and microcomputer automatic control diesel generator set.
1. Basic type diesel generator set Basic type Diesel generator set is common, which is composed of diesel engine, closed water tank, oil tank, muffler, synchronous alternator, excitation voltage regulator, control box, coupling and chassis. The basic diesel generator set has the function of automatic regulation of voltage and speed. It can generally be used as the main power supply or backup power supply.
2. Automatic starting diesel generator set Automatic starting diesel generator set is an automatic control system added to the basic diesel generator set. It has an automatic start function. When there is a sudden power outage, the unit can automatically start, switch, operate, send points, and stop; When the oil pressure is too low, the oil temperature or the cooling water temperature is too high, it can automatically send out an audible and visual alarmsignal; When the unit exceeds the speed limit, it can automatically emergency stop to protect the generator set.
3. Microcomputer automatic control diesel generator set The microcomputer automatic control diesel generator set consists of a diesel engine, a three-phase brushless synchronous generator, an automatic fuel supply device, an automatic oil supply device, an automatic cooling water supply device and an automatic control cabinet. Automatic control applies programmable logic controller (PLC) control. It not only has functions such as self start, self switch, self operation, self input, and self stop, but also is equipped with various fault alarms and automatic protection devices. In addition, it is connected to the main computer through an RS232 communication interface for centralized control, capable of remote control, signaling, and telemetry, achieving the requirement of unmanned duty.
